Keanu Reeves in Talks to Star in James Wan’s The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil
Keanu Reeves could be adding another major action thriller to his resume.
The John Wick and Matrix star is in talks to join James Wan’s upcoming reimagining of the South Korean crime thriller The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil for Paramount Pictures.
Reeves would star opposite Don Lee, also known as Ma Dong-seok, who appeared in the original 2019 film and is set to reprise his role for the new version.
The original The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil followed a crime boss and a police officer who reluctantly join forces to hunt down a dangerous serial killer. Their uneasy partnership creates a violent game of shifting loyalties as both men pursue the killer for their own reasons.
The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2019 and became one of the more internationally recognized South Korean crime thrillers of the period.
Wan is set to direct and produce the Paramount project. It will mark his first feature film as director since 2023’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
The latest screenplay was written by Eric Pearson, with earlier drafts coming from Shay Hatten and Brian Helgeland.
The producing team also includes Michael Clear and Jason Blum through Blumhouse Atomic Monster, Don Lee through Big Punch Global, Sylvester Stallone and D. Matt Geller through Balboa Productions, Chris S. Lee and Lorenzo di Bonaventura.
Reeves’ potential involvement would give the project another major action star alongside Lee while pairing him with Wan for the first time.
No release date has been announced.

Scrapped Power Rangers Reboot Concept Art Reveals a Very Different Look for the Rangers
Newly released concept art has given fans a glimpse at what a cancelled Power Rangers reboot could have looked like, and the designs are already sparking plenty of discussion online.
Artist Samuel Garcia recently shared artwork created for a Power Rangers series that ultimately never moved forward. Garcia said he had received permission to release the designs after working on the project several years ago.
The artwork features redesigned Ranger suits with a noticeably more modern and armored appearance while still incorporating elements associated with the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. The familiar white diamond pattern remains part of the designs, while the helmets and overall construction take the costumes in a much more futuristic direction.

Several of the images appear to feature Red, Blue and Green Rangers, suggesting the project may have experimented with a smaller initial Ranger lineup.
Garcia has not publicly identified the cancelled project as Netflix’s previously planned Power Rangers reboot. However, the timeline has led many fans and outlets to believe the artwork may have been created for that version of the franchise.
Netflix had been developing a new Power Rangers universe beginning around 2020, with Jonathan Entwistle overseeing plans that were expected to connect television and film projects. Jenny Klein later became showrunner of the planned live action series.
Those plans came to an end in 2024 when the project stopped moving forward at Netflix and Hasbro began looking for a new creative direction for the franchise.
Reaction to the newly released designs has been mixed. Some fans have praised the attempt to modernize the classic Ranger aesthetic, while others have criticized the suits for moving too far away from the simpler look that defined the television franchise.
The artwork also provides an interesting look at just how far development can progress before a television project ultimately disappears.
Another Power Rangers reboot was later developed for Disney+, but that project was also dropped earlier this year, leaving the future of the franchise on television uncertain.
For now, Garcia’s concept art offers fans something they rarely get to see: a version of the Power Rangers that came surprisingly close to existing but never actually made it to the screen.

Taika Waititi Says His Star Wars Movie Is “Very Iced” After Six Years in Development
Taika Waititi’s long discussed Star Wars movie appears to be further away from happening than ever.
The filmmaker recently gave an update on the project, saying the movie is currently “very iced” after spending years in development at Lucasfilm.
“It’s very iced. I’ve got about four other movies I’m trying to do,” Waititi said while discussing the status of the project.
Waititi had been developing the film with screenwriter Tony McNamara, but the two have now shifted their attention toward another project together.
The untitled Star Wars movie was first announced in 2020, with Waititi initially working alongside 1917 writer Krysty Wilson-Cairns. McNamara later became involved with the screenplay as development continued.

Star Wars
Despite years of work, the project never received an official production start or release date. Waititi had previously said he wanted his film to capture some of the fun and adventurous spirit of the original Star Wars movies while bringing something new to the franchise.
While his latest comments make it clear the movie is no longer a priority, Waititi stopped short of saying the project is completely dead.
“Ice ages do come to an end,” he joked. “Who knows?”
For now, though, fans hoping to see Waititi’s take on the galaxy far, far away may be waiting quite a bit longer.
