Jason Momoa Says a Solo Lobo Movie Must Be R-Rated
Jason Momoa is finally getting the chance to play one of his favorite DC characters, but if the actor ever headlines a solo Lobo film, he already has one non-negotiable demand.
While speaking with Collider, Momoa made it clear that he has no interest in a watered-down version of the infamous intergalactic bounty hunter.
“It’s all I want, and I promise — I’m just going to put this out there right now — I do not have any interest in making a Lobo PG-13 movie. So, will he be a part of some other movies? If they want me, I’ll be there. But if I make a solo movie, I’m not doing it unless it’s rated R.”
The statement is likely to be welcomed by longtime DC fans. Since his debut in the comics, Lobo has earned a reputation as one of the publisher’s most outrageous antiheroes. Known for his brutal violence, dark humor, and complete disregard for authority, the character has often been viewed as a natural fit for an R-rated adaptation.
Momoa has spent years expressing his desire to play the Main Man. Long before his casting was officially announced, the actor frequently mentioned Lobo as a dream role and one he felt personally connected to. That dream finally becomes reality with his upcoming appearance in Supergirl, where audiences will get their first look at the new DC Universe’s version of the character.
The casting has generated significant excitement among fans, many of whom believe Momoa’s larger-than-life personality, physical presence, and love of the source material make him an ideal choice for the role. Unlike many comic book castings that take fans by surprise, Momoa’s portrayal of Lobo feels like a pairing that has been years in the making.
Although DC Studios has not announced a standalone Lobo movie, Momoa’s comments suggest he is more than willing to continue playing the character across multiple projects. However, he drew a clear line when it comes to a solo adventure. While he is open to appearing in other DCU films, he believes a proper Lobo movie should embrace the character’s mature roots rather than tone them down for a broader audience.
The idea may not be as far-fetched as it once seemed. Under the leadership of James Gunn and Peter Safran, DC Studios has shown a willingness to explore projects aimed at different audiences. With R-rated comic book films continuing to find success both critically and commercially, an adult-oriented Lobo film could fit comfortably within the evolving DC Universe.
For now, fans will have to wait and see how audiences respond to Momoa’s debut in Supergirl. But if the actor ultimately gets his wish, the Main Man’s first solo outing will likely be every bit as loud, violent, and unapologetically over-the-top as fans have always imagined.

Mckenna Grace Says Playing Gwen Stacy in the MCU Would Be a “Dream Job”
Mckenna Grace has responded to years of fan casting linking her to Gwen Stacy, and the actress made it clear she would be more than interested in taking on the role.
Grace has frequently been mentioned by Marvel fans as a possible choice to play Gwen Stacy in a future Spider-Man project, especially as speculation continues about which characters could eventually join the MCU’s version of Peter Parker’s story.
When asked about the fan casting, Grace said the opportunity would be a major one for any actor.
“Of course, that would be such a dream job for any actor.”
Grace also joked that she is careful about getting too excited whenever fans begin pushing her for a particular role, saying those campaigns sometimes feel like they can jinx the possibility before anything actually happens.
At this point, there is no indication that Marvel Studios or Sony has cast Grace as Gwen Stacy, and her comments should not be taken as confirmation that discussions are underway.

Emma Stone
Still, the idea has gained plenty of support online, with fans pointing to Grace’s age, dramatic range and experience in major franchises as reasons she could fit naturally into the MCU’s Spider-Man world.
Grace has already appeared in several high profile projects, including Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire and The Handmaid’s Tale, while continuing to build a reputation as one of Hollywood’s busiest young performers.
Gwen Stacy remains one of the most important characters in Spider-Man history. While Emma Stone previously played the character opposite Andrew Garfield in The Amazing Spider-Man films, the MCU has yet to introduce its own live action Gwen.
With the future of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man continuing to develop, there is still plenty of room for new characters to enter Peter Parker’s world.
Whether Grace ever gets the opportunity remains to be seen, but she certainly sounds ready if Marvel comes calling.

Samuel L. Jackson Confirms Nick Fury Will Return After Avengers: Doomsday
Samuel L. Jackson has revealed when fans can expect to see Nick Fury back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it won’t be in Avengers: Doomsday.
Jackson recently spoke with The Direct while attending the premiere of his new film The Beast. When asked when audiences would see him return as Nick Fury, Jackson indicated that his comeback will happen in the Avengers movie following Doomsday.
“Next movie… [The] movie after this one.”
Jackson said.
When asked whether he could reveal anything about the upcoming film, Jackson admitted that Marvel Studios hasn’t given him much information.
“I have no idea. [Marvel] hasn’t told me anything, other than, ‘You’re not gonna be in this movie. You’ll be in the next.’”
While Jackson didn’t specifically name Avengers: Secret Wars, Marvel’s current slate makes the implication clear. Avengers: Doomsday is the next Avengers installment, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars.

Jackson has been one of the MCU’s longest-running stars. Nick Fury first appeared during the post-credits scene of 2008’s Iron Man, approaching Tony Stark about the Avengers Initiative and helping set the foundation for what would eventually become the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Fury went on to become an important connective figure throughout the Infinity Saga, appearing alongside the Avengers and playing major roles in films including The Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultronand Captain Marvel.
Jackson most recently played Fury in 2023, starring in the Disney+ series Secret Invasion before appearing in The Marvels.

With Secret Wars expected to serve as the culmination of Marvel’s Multiverse Saga, however, bringing back the man who helped assemble the original Avengers would give one of the MCU’s longest-running characters a place in another major chapter of the franchise.
Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 18, 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars currently scheduled for December 17, 2027.

Christopher Abbott Says He Hasn’t Read the X-Men Script Yet but ‘Can’t Wait’ to Play Professor X
Christopher Abbott may already be Marvel Studios’ new Professor Charles Xavier, but the actor says he still knows surprisingly little about what awaits him in the MCU’s upcoming X-Men movie.
Abbott was officially announced as Professor X earlier this year, taking over one of the franchise’s most iconic roles following previous live-action portrayals by Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy. Despite already landing the part, Abbott revealed that he has yet to read the screenplay for the highly anticipated reboot.
“I haven’t read anything yet. Nothing,”
Abbott said while discussing the film. “I’m not even being coy. It’s true, I haven’t read anything.”
While Marvel is apparently keeping details close to the vest, Abbott made it clear that he is excited about joining the project and working with director Jake Schreier.
“But I’m excited to work with Jake Schreier, I think he’s a great director and that cast is really, really good,” Abbott continued. “I can’t wait, I love the X-Men.”

That could provide an interesting indication of how Marvel Studios and Schreier are approaching Professor X. Charles Xavier possesses one of the most powerful mutant abilities in the Marvel universe, but some of the character’s most memorable stories have centered on his complicated relationships with his students, fellow mutants and longtime friend and ideological rival Magneto.
Abbott’s comments also suggest that Marvel is still keeping major story details away from at least some members of the cast. With the movie not scheduled to arrive until 2028, there is still plenty of time before cameras begin rolling.
The upcoming X-Men movie will introduce Marvel Studios’ primary version of the mutant team following years of individual mutants and characters from Fox’s X-Men universe appearing throughout the MCU.

For Abbott, the opportunity also marks another chance to enter the Marvel universe after appearing as The Foreigner in 2024’s Kraven the Hunter. This time, however, he’ll be stepping into a considerably larger role as the leader and founder most closely associated with the X-Men.
And even without seeing the script yet, Abbott already sounds ready to get started.
“I can’t wait,” he said. “I love the X-Men.”
