Insidious: The Red Door Movie Review

A Sinister Plot

Nine years have passed since the events of Insidious: Chapter 2. Both Josh and Dalton’s memories have been repressed of the possession and they are all leading busy lives. Since we have last seen the Lambert family, many unfortunate things have come to pass such as Josh and Renai’s divorce and Lorraine’s passing. Dalton is now attending art college. The past is not done with Josh and Dalton, and we are quick to see them return to the Further to face both new and familiar terrors.

Movie Review

The character development of both Patrick Wilson and Ty Simpkins is excellent and this movie is also Patrick Wilson’s directorial debut. Insidious: The Red Door continues with a spooky ambiance and the jump scares that will take you out of your seat. For me this movie is a 5 out of 5 because of a consistent storyline that keeps you coming back to see more and further into the beyond. We stay connected to the history of the story as well as the other characters of the Insidious franchise. I highly recommend watching the prequels before you dive in with this movie.

I really hope the post-credits scene means what I think it does because I for one would really like to see more of the world and story done by Leigh Whannell. I highly recommend watching the movie in the theatre because of the amazing soundtrack, and the sounds adds so much more to those jump scares that we crave for.
I’m ready to open the Red Door, are you?
