CD Projekt Red Announces Cyberpunk and Witcher 3 Pushed Back

Published

on

In a statement released from controversial game developer CD Projekt Red — the company announced today that Cyberpunk and the Witcher 3 next-generation updates will be postponed until next year.

The colossal gaming failure in Cyberpunk will be released in the first quarter of 2022, while the latter will be released in the second quarter of 2022. A huge disappointment for not only gamers, but a company that seems hell bent on trying to make amends for releasing an admitted “unfinished product” in the form of the mess that was Cyberpunk.

The Polish video game developer stampeded its way to global fame with the success of the Witcher 3. The critically acclaimed title has sold over 30 million copies of the game worldwide. The games which are based upon the book series by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, and are not only critically acclaimed but also spawned a successful series which airs on Netflix starring current Superman actor Henry Cavill.

This led to major hype for their next project, the highly anticipated and highly problematic ‘Cyberpunk.’ A game that was not only unfinished and unpolished, but such a mess that it even offered refunds. Whatever the true issue of the problematic game was, the biggest issue was not only the loss of revenue due to its failure, but the company’s sterling name which had become one of the most respected in gaming.

The company promised major fixes to the title for next-gen consoles, although this was met with much doubt, many gamers still trusted the company could right their wrongs with the title. With the latest setback, it seems many gamers will get off the bandwagon here, and the company announcing such troubling news after a very critical 2021 year — it would seem the company is taking another huge loss in form of monetary value and reputation.

We will update here at Coastal House Media with any new news on this topic.

Grand Theft Auto Trilogy (may be delayed)

Grand Theft Auto Trilogy

Rumors surfaced just last week of a Grand Theft Auto Trilogy (remastered) coming to multiple platforms. The rumors even suggested a release window as early as this winter. These rumors were put to rest recently according to an “inside leaker.”

The story of the rumors first came to light in a story from Kotaku, which were the first to run the story. A November window was originally planned for the ‘unconfirmed’ trilogy which would be available for multiple platforms. The trilogy was said to come as a remaster with a mixture of old and newer graphics.

The trilogy would feature three titles in the collection – the collection would include Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. With such a clamor for GTA VI, it makes since for Rockstar to release this trilogy as it has not released a new Grand Theft Auto title since 2013 with GTA V.

Rockstar has not released a game since 2018’s Red Dead Redemption 2. The company which is known for a slew of major titles; has been rather quiet over the last few years. Rumors have run rampant over a new GTA title being announced, but for the near future it seems the newest title from the company we will receive, will indeed be technically older titles.

We will update with further developments on the story.
