Filming of the rebooted Power Rangers movie is officially underway in Vancouver. With Director Israelite making his sophomore debut, following up to his found footage film, ‘Project Almanac.’
The cast includes relatively new faces with Darce Montgomery as Jason (Red Ranger), Naomi Scott as Kimberly (Pink Ranger), RJ Cyler as Billy (Blue Ranger), Ludi Lin as Zack (Black Ranger) and Becky Gomez as Trini (Yellow Ranger). But in a surprising twist a big name was added to the cast, when Elizabeth Banks was added to the cast as Rita Repulsa.

Now that Power Rangers 2017 is fully underway, Lionsgate/Saban have released an official synopsis:
Saban’s Power Rangers follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late.

Power Rangers is set to hit theaters March 24, 2017
