Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
ZACK SNYDER: “I know what’s in the movie, so I know there’s other stuff.”
Director Snyder, in an interview with The Daily Beast, took the opportunity to speak directly to those fans who were generally disappointed with the most recent ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice‘ trailer. Most thought it was too soon for the reveal of the big bad Doomsday. Feeling that BvS had basically spoiled the big reveal of the main antagonist of the film. But have they….?
Snyder who is obviously in the know as far as what BvS consists of, had this to say to The Daily Beast:
“I know what’s in the movie, so I know there’s other stuff. We had a long conversation about just taking ownership of that, of giving it to the audience in a controlled way that I felt was consistent with the escalation of the campaign.”
Snyder wants audiences to understand that there is a mythology behind Doomsday and that he wasn’t just tossing Doomsday into the final act.
“Well, you have Doomsday, right? He doesn’t just crawl out of the ground. He has his own mythology, right? So that has to be explored. To us it really made sense to give him to the audience now. I really wanted to make the audience a promise that… though I’m super excited and happy and fulfilled by the conflict of Batman and Superman, there’s also a bigger world to start to think about.”
It would appear that Director Snyder is teasing a bigger threat than Doomsday to come, he goes on to say that the studio is still learning as they go.
“It is constantly evolving, but we’re starting to get a handle on where we’re going with the world. That’s fun because it allows us now to be driving toward a goal that we don’t have to make up as much. The rules can be the rules, and the movie can exist in a closed universe… it allows us to tie things together. If there’s a movie over here doing this, and we’re over here doing this, now we’re all on the same page. It allows for a coherent universe, which is important. I think that makes the experience a little more satisfying because we know where we’re going, so the misdirects can be stronger and the reveals can be bigger.”
It sounds as though the Batman v Superman will be much deeper than what we have seen from trailers. Snyder appears to be setting up a much deeper universe, connecting all the films that will be rolling out in the DCEU for years to come.
‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ hits theaters March 25, 2016
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
ORIGINAL SUPERMAN THEME TO RETURN FOR ‘JUSTICE LEAGUE!’
With the final ‘Justice League’ trailer eminent and rumors flying in all directions about what we can expect from the Zack Snyder/Joss Whedon collaborated film. Fans have been collectively holding their breathe as to who’s side The Man of Steel will be on when he is resurrected. Reports suggest we will see a dark version of Superman, sporting his black costume and angry with the newly formed Justice League for allowing “His World” to end, that being the death of Lois Lane..
It would appear that the composer for the film, Danny Elfman has let slip some fantastic information that may shed some light into what we can expect.
In a recent interview with Billboard Danny Elfman had this to say:
“There are a few little fan moments. I instated a moment of the Wonder Woman theme that Hans Zimmer did for Batman v Superman, but I also had two minutes where I had the pleasure of saying, ‘Let’s do John Williams’ Superman,’ and that for me was heaven, because now I have a melody to twist, and I’m using it in an actually very dark way, in a dark moment. It’s the kind of thing that some fans will notice. Some won’t. It’s a moment where we’re really not sure whose side he’s on.”
It would appear that Danny Elfman was given the green light to include the original/classic Superman theme song composed by the legendary John Williams. It sounds like the song will play at a critical moment, when everyone is trying to figure out just who’s side the man of steel is on and make for a classic scene signaling the return of SUPERMAN!!
MATHEW VAUGHN: “HE’S A BEACON OF LIGHT IN DARKNESS”
With ‘Justice League’ nearing and the resurrection of the Man of Steel imminent, fans have begun to wonder what we can expect from a “Superman 2” film. There hasn’t been much confirmed as far as the direction of the film, but some have speculated that we will see the “Rebirth” of Super girl on screen.
A very short list of Directors has emerged and with the recent and unfortunate departure of Zack Snyder due to family issues from the ‘Justice League’ film, one can only assume we will end up with a fresh take on the Man of Steel.

[kb_description]”He’s a beacon of light in darkness”[/kb_description]
One name that has recently been talked about is ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ Director Mathew Vaughn. In a recent interview with Collider, Vaughn opened up about his possible vision for a Superman film:
“Weirdly if I did do Superman—and I made the mistake of telling someone yesterday I have spoken about it and then wallop (laughs)—I think my main take would be, it’s really boring but make a Superman film. I just don’t feel a proper Superman—I think Donner did it to perfection for that time. Just doing the modern—I wanna do a modern version of the Donner [version]. Go back to the source material… For me Superman is color, feel-good, heroic. He’s a beacon of light in darkness. And that’s what I think Superman should be.”
Though this take sounds exiting, I feel that was what Bryan Singer attempted to pull off with 2006’s ‘Superman Returns.’ The film took in a modest 391 million and was met with harsh criticism. It would be hard to say if Mathew Vaughn would be able to do anything different with this concept. But only time will tell what’s in store, for the last son of krypton.
